What is recorded here
Marianne and Denis Power recorded the Ballyashea ringfort before thorns erased it, preserving the shape of a lost local landmark. That is why the place still matters: human memory completed what the land could no longer show.
In scrubland. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, is now completely covered by thorn thicket.
