What is recorded here

Athneasy Church vanished but its graveyard remains, a square box of dead people set inside a post-1700 stone wall in County Limerick. Memorials from the 18th century onwards still stand there, marking lives that stopped being spoken about openly. The church may have been forgotten, yet the yard kept its shape, its boundary and its purpose.
The site of Athneasy Church (LI040-104001-) stood inside a square-shaped graveyard (approx. dims. 49m N-S x 42m E-W) enclosed by post-1700 stone wall with memorials dating from the 18th century onwards. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 17 June 2019
