Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballagh (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. The 1837 Ordnance Survey map marked an oval embanked enclosure about fifty metres north-south and forty metres east-west in a low-lying, gently undulating landscape. A north-south farm track cuts through the pasture where the earthworks no longer show, while Rath sits two hundred metres to the west-southwest.
Marked as an oval embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 50m N-S; c. 40m E-W) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated in a low-lying, gently undulating landscape. It is not visible at ground level in pasture with a N-S farm track through the centre. Rath (RO045-085----) is c. 200m to the WSW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
