Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballagh (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a slightly undulating low-lying landscape as a circular grass-covered area measuring 36.4m NE-SW and 35m NW-SE. An earthen bank 3-3.1m wide and 0.4-0.6m high internally defines the perimeter, while lazy beds mark the interior. Rath (RO045-227----) lies approximately 160m to the west.
On a slightly undulating low-lying landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 36.4m NE-SW; 35m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-3.1m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 0.9m) with some bushes. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, but the interior has lazy beds. Rath (RO045-227----) is c. 160m to the W. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
