What is recorded here

Graveslab in Athenry marks one dead person or a small buried group, but the facts do not say who they were or when they died. The name preserves the shape of the event: a life ended, a body was set into the ground, and the place was left behind as a witness. Much of the evidence has been lost, erased or never written. What remains is the fact that someone was important enough to be remembered, and the earth has kept that promise longer than human memory did.
