What is recorded here

Arlinstown holds a forty-six-metre earthen ring where people lived before written memory. Trees still grow inside the ancient banks, marking a boundary that human hands drew across living soil. The fort has watched the pasture change for centuries, waiting for curious feet to walk its hidden path.

In pasture. Circular area (46.5m E-W; 45.9m N-S) enclosed by inner earthen bank (int. H 1m); intervening fosse; outer earthen bank best preserved to W (H 1.2m). Gaps in inner bank to N (Wth 1m), ENE (Wth 4m) and NW (Wth 1.5m). Fosse substantial to W and N, used as pathway to E and S. Outer bank modified and incorporated into field fence system to E and S.
