Clearance cairns at Kye, County Roscommon, mark ordinary farm work rather than ceremonial ambition. Stones gathered from nearby fields were stacked to clear the soil, then left behind when the land changed or the work moved on. They record human labour more directly than memory, preserving the moment when people shaped the ground around them.

At the crest of the N-facing slope of a WNW-ESE ridge, and within the SW angle of the rectangular enclosure (RO028-240001-). Circular grass-covered and flat-topped cairn (diam. of base 10.9m E-W; 10m N-S; H 0.2m at S to 0.4m at N), which is probably a clearance cairn. It has been removed since 2002 (Bing c. 2013).
