What is recorded here

Indicated is a small circular mound on a gentle north-facing slope in County Roscommon, sitting roughly 450 metres west-northwest of the Ardcarn church site. Its flat top may mark the place where a tree once stood, visible from Ardcarn House about 220 metres to the south-southeast. The mound is modest, barely rising above the ground, yet it holds the shape of a lived landscape where a house, a church memory and a single tree could all be seen at once.

On a slight rise of a gentle N-facing slope, c. 450m WNW of Ardcarn church site (RO006-103001-). Circular mound (diam. of base 8.2m NE-SW; 7.5m NW-SE) with a flat top (dims 3m NE-SW; 2.4m NW-SE; H 0.3-0.8m) which may mark the site of a tree in full view of Ardcarn House c. 220m to the SSE.
