Cross in Ardagh — Report the wrong picture

Ardagh keeps a lost cross on the crest of a drumlin, where a crude base once supported a small stoup beside the laneway south of the graveyard. The water vessel is gone, but the place still marks the edge between the living road and the dead field. People may have paused there to drink, wash or remember before entering the graveyard, giving the cross a simple human purpose rather than a grand ceremonial one.

Located at the crest of the S-facing slope of a drumlin and on the N side of a NW-SE laneway. The crude base of a cross or a boulder (dims 0.6m x 0.45m; H c. 0.4m) supporting a stoup (dims c. 0.28m x 0.28m; H 0.28m) that was in the laneway to the S of the graveyard (ME003-001001-) is now missing.
