Mallow Railway Station

Freestanding water tank, c. 1900, now disused, comprising rectangular-plan concrete tank supported by metal beams and columns, those columns to front elevation joined by metal braces with decorative floral motif bosses to crossings.

This water tank is an unusual feature. It utilizes materials characteristic of functional structures of its time and its simple form, also typical of the era, is afforded decorative interest by the ornamental bosses.
