Thirty centuries of rain have not erased the charred bone or charcoal fragments recovered from the twenty-four foot chamber at Loher. A huge blocking stone still carries cup-shaped hollows, marking the chamber where human hands once prepared death or memory. The Iveragh peninsula keeps that tomb beneath its green silence, waiting for someone to remember what the stones already record.

Graves recorded a megalithic tomb at Loher, near Darrynane (1864, 180). He described a twenty-four foot (7.3m) long chamber which was covered by a huge block exhibiting cup-shaped hollows. His investigation of the 'subterraneous chamber' produced charcoal fragments and a portion of a charred bone. It is possible that this and KE106-089---- are the same site.
