What is recorded here

Under the ringfort in County Louth, hidden lintels still mark the top of a buried passage. People built that chamber deliberately, perhaps to keep goods safe, hide during danger or perform rites away from ordinary sight. The entrance has closed, but the stones still align beneath the grass.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
