A shallow sandy hole beneath a young beech plantation still draws people to Aghintober on the first of February. The cross-slab leaning against its west side carries a double-ring mark deep enough to catch a fingertip, while two bare whitethorns stand nearby where rags once fluttered. St Bridget may have never walked that slope, but the well has kept her name long enough to become hers.
Located towards the bottom of an E-facing slope. A well dedicated to St Bridget is an unlined rectangular hollow (dims 1.1m N-S; 0.85m E-W; D 0.7m) with a cross-slab (H 0.66m plus; Wth 0.28m; T 6cm) retaining the W side (Ward 1990, 77). The cross-slab has a deeply-incised ringed cross with a double-ring (diam. of head 0.28m). The well is still visited on the saint’s feastday (1st Feb.). It has a sandy bottom with some water and there are two whitethorns there which are known to have been festooned with rags in the past but are bare now. The well is within a small beech plantation that is c. 10 years old.

The holy well is dedicated to St Brigid, a major figure in early Irish Christianity, often associated with healing, fertility, and protection. Traditionally, wells dedicated to her were visited for curing ailments, especially those related to women's health, and were often marked with crosses or stone carvings.
