Heat and hunger drove them to Adrivale. They built a fire pit, heated stones, dropped them into water, and ate what the boil gave back. Dan Leary took the quern in 1890, and the heap disappeared soon after. What remains is a absent circle, large enough to gather around and empty enough to forget.

Broker (1937, 15) recorded a fulacht fiadh 'in Pairc na Ladhra, removed in 1885, round stone holed in centre was in middle of it: like millstone, 2 feet in diameter. Quern removed in 1890 by Dan Leary. Heap 20 feet diameter, 11/2 feet high: removed. Quern was in very foundation of it'. Exact location not known.
