Indicated, Adamstown is a grass bawn in County Wexford, Ireland, where a tower house still stands at the north corner of a square enclosure. The bawn measures about one English acre, and its walls once rose twenty feet high with corner towers that survived into the 19th century. A memorial stone taken from the bawn gateway now sits in the hallway of Adamstown House, carrying a fragment of the place into domestic life.

Situated on a slight SE-facing slope. Adamstown tower house (WX031-019001-) is at the N corner of a square enclosure (dims. c. 40m x c. 40m) defined by slight scarps and is also centrally placed within a grass-covered bawn now visible as a rectangular grass-covered area (dims. c. 70m NE-SW; c. 60m NW-SE) defined by a scarp. This is the bawn of one English acre with walls ‘20 feet high (H c. 6m)’ that survived with corner towers into the 19th century and which had other structures (Ffrench 1889, 85). The memorial stone (WX031-019002-) was taken from over the gateway of the bawn and is now built into the hallway of Adamstown House (WX031-056----).
