Rathnarrow

In pasture, on the E-facing slope of a ridge. A roughly circular platform (int. diam. 27m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2.5m) and an external fosse (Wth 5m). Traces of an outer bank (Wth 1.5m; H 0.2m) are evident along the SE arc. The entrance (Wth 1.5m) is at the E side with a causeway and ramp (Wth 2m) across the fosse. The platform and bank are overgrown with trees and bushes. There is a possible Man-made underground passage (SL027-110002-) in the W half of the interior. In 1836 it was recorded that 'Rath na Rígh is the name of a fort in a division of land called by the people Ceathramh Ráth na Ríghthe' (OSL, 432).
