What is recorded here

Rathbaun is a 52-metre circular fairy fort in County Galway, built with two banks and a central ditch beside an older ringfort. It still stands in fair condition except where a modern field cut through its southern edge. The twin banks suggest careful human engineering, yet local tradition assigns the site to fairy ownership, reminding people that some Galway landscapes answer to older rules than human law.

Some 30m SE of a ringfort (GA015-024----) Circular rath (D 52m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. No visible surface trace of the enclosing elements survive at S where the monument is cut by a field boundary.
