Mentioned in the Annals of Ulster 1072. Rath is a defensive earthwork, often circular or oval, with a bank and ditch. Windmill is a building that uses sail or blade action to turn a shaft and drive stones, gears, pumps or lifts. Both are human-made and must be judged by the parts that still exist.
