A possible rath in Ballyleny, County Down. That is all the official record gives, yet the name suggests a ring of earth where people once drew a line around what they wanted to keep safe. The uncertainty does not weaken the place; it invites imagination. Behind a broken rim of soil, a small life may have turned in circles, marking ownership, shelter or memory long before any road arrived.
