RATH PAIR in Seacash, County Antrim, is an early Christian site where human hands shaped the earth long before modern borders drew their lines. The name itself suggests a pair of enclosures, perhaps one for living and one for dying, or one for people and one for gods. Such places rarely appear empty on old maps; they appear empty because the life inside them stopped leaving marks readable by later tools.
