In Kinawley, County Fermanagh, a rath still marks the earth, an ancient fort born before Christian time when people shaped stone and soil into defensible life. It is not a grand castle or a new house, but a local strongholds remembered through landscape rather than display. Perhaps families argued inside it, children ran past its edge, and strangers came bearing gifts or trouble. The ground kept the shape long after the names faded.
