What is recorded here
Motte and castle, or a ring of stones and a chamber for one, the hill in Glenstall still holds its shape. Build or bury, the hand that made it understood that a small height can carry a whole life. Under the grass the chamber may wait for a body, a chest of tools or a child's marble. The mountains keep what people forget, and they return it only when someone stops wanting to own the answer.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RAISED RATH (or MOTTE?). Recorded period: E.CHRIST.; MEDIEVAL. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
