What is recorded here
Deer Park Farms holds a raised rath and two excavated underground passages, marking it as a place where human hands shaped the earth long before modern fields. The digging revealed chambers or tunnels beneath the surface, suggesting people lived, hid, stored, or ritually used the land under the open sky. What remains is a reminder that ordinary farmland can cover strange depth, and that the ground itself remembers the shapes made within it.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RAISED RATH & Man-made underground passages (2): DEER PARK FARMS (excavated). Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
