Situated on a gently rolling landscape with an E-W roadway just to the S. This is a Catholic church, now in ruins, that was probably built to serve this part of a very large Catholic parish, which included Duncannon and Ramsgrange until 1863 (Grattan Flood 1915, 129-130). The date 1794 is incised in the keystone over the principal doorway at S, and the church functioned until the present Catholic church of Templetown was opened in 1898 (Colfer 2004, 138). It has a T-shaped plan, with the main entrance at S to the nave (int. dims 13m N-S; 6.5m E-W). There are stoups built into the E and W walls at ground level and a gallery over the S end that was accessed by a wooden stairs against the inner face of the S wall on either side of the entrance doorway. There are subsidiary entrances to the E and W arms which lack galleries (int. dims 20.4m E-W; 6.15m N-S) crossing the N of the nave. There is a sacristy attached outside to the N wall. There is one window in the E and W walls of the nave, and two windows in the end-walls of the transepts, which have one window in each S wall. There are two windows in the N wall behind the location of the altar at the crux, and there was a large window over the principal doorway at S. All the windows and doors are round headed and built in brick. Granite crosses surmount the E and W gables, but the S gable does not survive. There is no evidence of an enclosure or of burial.
