What is recorded here
Listed in both the SMR (1989) and RMP (1995) and classified as 'Enclosure Possible'. The classification is based on cartographic evidence (the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map). When inspected in 1993 no enclosure was identified. Re-examination of the feature on the 1838 map revealed it to be a sand-pit.
