What is recorded here

Immediately adjacent to Trahanee enclosure (SL001-010001-), on the west side, the summit of the ridge is deeply cut by a large pit – possibly a quarry pit (sand/gravel?) – measuring 6 m wide and 1.7 m deep. This is an odd feature, resembling a small quarry pit. The sides of the cavity are of freshly exposed subsoil, indicating that it is possibly of recent date. Monks and pilgrims in an Atlantic landscape. Cork. The Collins Press.
