What is recorded here
Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996) on the basis of a small irregular hachured area indicated on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. A limekiln and a quarried out area are indicated on the OS 25-inch map. On inspection in 1999 a low oval depression was found which had been exploited for building material and was known locally as a quarry. The quarry is likely to have been dug in association with the limekiln.
