What is recorded here
In level pasture immediately N of Punchestown racecourse. Noble and Keenan show a walled estate with a large, possibly gabled, house on their 1752 map of County Kildare and, according to De Burgh (1896, 317), the house belonged to the Alen family in the late-17th century. It may have been levelled by 1783 as it is not shown by Taylor on his map of the county. No visible surface trace survives. A triangular pond to the S may be a relict landscape feature.
