What is recorded here

Terraced two-bay four-storey former house, built c. 1830, as a pair with the adjoining former house to the north. Now in use as offices and flats. Pitched tile roof with red brick chimneystack. Rendered walls with replacement timber casement windows. Replacement shopfront, c.1980, with timber fixed windows and timber glazed door.
Built as a pair with the adjoining former house to the north this pair makes a notable and positive addition to the streetscape, due to the scale and form of the pair. The pair occupies a notable position in the streetscape, as it closes the vista at the east end of Castle Street.
