Pound Fort is a degraded thirty-metre circular rath in Galway grassland, holding a hidden underground passage beneath its broken bank. The site feels less like a dead ruin and more like a threshold, where the earth has swallowed a chamber that people may still have used to hide, worship or simply disappear from ordinary sight.

In level grassland. A poorly preserved circular rath (D 30m) defined by a degraded bank and external fosse. Numerous breaches in the bank appear modern. There is a probable Man-made underground passage (GA073-051001-) in the interior.
