What is recorded here

Cast-iron wall-mounted post box, c. 1915, with royal insignia of King George V and crown. Set in rendered rubble limestone boundary wall of former workhouse.
This early twentieth-century post box is of a simple design, and its insignia and crown are reminders of the period in Ireland immediately prior to Independence. Wall-mounted post boxes of this period are becoming increasingly rare.
