Cast-iron post box, c.1905, with E.R. insignia and crown, set in recent stone clad pier.
This post box is a good example of early mass-produced cast-iron work, while the raised features enhance the design of the piece. The royal cipher and crown motif are of special interest as a physical reminder of Ireland relationship to the British Empire.
