Freestanding cast-iron pillar post box, c.1930.
This cast-iron pillar post box, which is still in use, is an important feature in the rural landscape and is prominently sited in the centre of the village of Ballymore Eustace. The raised lettering to the letter opening is of some artistic merit. Its age and survival, however, are of great historical and social importance.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
