Wall-mounted cast-iron "wall box" post box, between 1939-1984, with "P7T [Posts and Telegraphs]" monogram. Set in tuck pointed coursed rubble stone boundary wall.
A "wall box" post box supplied by I.V.I. [Industrial Vehicles Ireland] Foundry (fl. 1935-86) of Athy, County Kildare, representing an interesting example of mass-produced cast-iron work making a pleasing, if largely inconspicuous visual statement in a rural street scene with embellishments identifying the artistic potential of the composition including the Cló Gaelach or "Old Irish Lettering" defining the monogram of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs (fl. 1924-84).
