Cast-iron wall-mounted post box, c.1880, with royal insignia of Queen Victoria and crown. Maker's mark, 'W.T. Allen & Co. London', to base and 'Post Office' to letter slot. Set in rubble retaining wall of graveyard of Church of Ireland.
This attractive post box has simple, well designed lettering and crown which enhance its modest form. It is still in use after about 130 years.
