What is recorded here

A headstone that is probably a re-used medieval churchyard cross (Davies ITA Survey 1942) is no longer present in the graveyard of Magheross parish church (MO031-035001-), but it has been described and illustrated by (Shirley 1879, 367). It has an expanded head which has chamfered edges and is decorated with running animals. The head also has the partial inscription: THIS AND / CROS THA / T IEVERM. The reverse had what appears to be intended as a harp. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload; 2 December 2016
