Poll na bPéist

Recorded cave place

What is recorded here

Half a mile south of the ancient cliff fort, the sea cut a rectangular chamber through the living rock and still breathes water through hidden channels beneath the island. The pool holds ten metres of turquoise depth, yet waves can crash over its stone rim and trap a person inside with nothing but a rope ladder for escape. That is why the chamber feels less like a scenic wonder and more like a lair: beautiful, impatient, and waiting for someone reckless enough to jump.
