PLATFORM RATH, a raised earthen platform in Portmore, County Antrim, stands as a deliberate human shape inside the green field. It is the kind of place where ordinary life became visible: a boundary, a home, a watch point, or a marker for the surrounding land. The exact function has faded, but the act of building remains clear. Someone shaped the earth, made it higher, and gave the locality a point of reference.
