What is recorded here

Originally recorded as a narrow, compact single layer of parallel, longitudinal roundwood and brushwood exposed at the shoulder of an ESE drain face (exposed Wth 1.35m). Five roundwoods (diam. 0.07-0.08m) and twelve pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.04m) were present (Dunne 1999, 33, 99DBSE018A). Excavation in 2001 revealed five pieces of large brushwood placed parallel in a N-S orientation. Three of the pieces had chisel-point toolmarks. Radiocarbon dating yielded an Iron Age date of 358-235 BC (Whitaker 2009, 40). The evidence suggested that this was most likely to be the remains of a platform.
