Mowing machines cut through County Longford peat and revealed four roundwoods aligned west-northwest to east-southeast, alongside a degraded wedge point and scattered twigs. The woods measured no more than seven centimetres across and seventy-six centimetres long, yet their deliberate arrangement suggested a human-made platform rather than ordinary peat debris. Someone may have built a walking surface across wet ground, then left it to rot into the earth until steel blades opened it again.

Four roundwoods (diam. 0.075-0.08m; L 0.76m max.), orientated WNW-ESE, were located on the field surface and were being milled (exposed area 1.5m x 1.3m). A single degraded wedge-point end was noted. A small concentration of twigs (0.2m x 0.2m), with varying orientations occurred S of the roundwood with some brushwood on the opposite side. The evidence suggested that this was likely to be the remains of a platform.
