On a gentle S-facing slope c. 110m NE of the eastern end of Lower Lough Gara, which is now reclaimed, and the Boyle River. Sandstone block (dims. 1.1m x 0.55m; L 1.9m) which once stood c. 100m S of the portal tomb (RO005-015----), but was removed c. 1965 and now lies against a field bank.

Probably dating to the Neolithic period, this sandstone pillar may have had ritual or ceremonial significance, possibly linked to the nearby portal tomb. Its alignment or positioning could reflect early funerary practices or landscape orientation.
