Peakeen Mountain rises to approximately 550 meters and is part of the broader MacGillycuddy's Reeks range, one of Ireland's most prominent and geologically significant mountain systems. It is composed largely of ancient igneous rock, formed during the same volcanic activity that shaped much of the Kerry landscape. The mountain holds importance as part of a rugged and scenic region valued for both its natural beauty and recreational hiking opportunities.
