Paviland Cave is a limestone cave located within the Gower Peninsula, formed through natural processes of karstification. It is historically significant as the site where the "Red Lady of Paviland" – a human skeleton stained with red ochre – was discovered in 1823, later identified as one of the earliest known modern human remains in Europe.
