Passage tomb in Lackan

Situated just S of the crest of the saddle between Lugnagun and Sorrel Hill. A circular cairn (diam. c. 9.5m) surrounded by a kerb of small boulders. The chamber is rectangular (dims. 1.2m x 0.75m; H 0.6m) and partly covered by a roofstone (dims. 1.8m x 1m; T 0.2m), with a possible recess opening off it. The remains of a short passage lead from the kerb to the chamber from the WSW side. Passage tomb, dating to the Neolithic period (c. 3500–2500 BCE). It represents an early form of megalithic funerary architecture and is significant as part of a broader network of tombs associated with communal burial and ritual practices in the region.
