Situated on a low rise, in relatively low-lying and gently undulating pasture. Annotated 'Fort' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan and depicted as a sub-rectilinear-shaped earthwork (approx. dims. 40m NE-SW; 33m NW-SE) with rounded corners. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly semi-circular-shaped earthwork. Levelled monument described in January 1970 as no surface remains visible. Irregular depressions and undulations are present across the site. Monument is not visible on Digital Globe aerial photography.
