What is recorded here

Partially hachured is a ringfort in County Limerick, Ireland. It is a partially levelled earthen circle, about twenty-four metres across, sitting in improved pasture beside a watercourse. Maps from 1840 and 1897 show its scarp and fosse, but field boundaries and ploughing have cut through or removed parts of it. What remains is a broken hoop of soil, half-swallowed by farming, yet still readable as a place where people once drew a line around their lives.

OSi 25-inch map as a raised roughly circular-shaped area (diam. c. 24m) defined by a scarp with external fosse both of which have been removed at E. Truncated at W by curving field boundary running N-S and intersected at S by field boundary running NE-SW. Partially levelled monument visible as semi-circular shaped earthwork delimited by trees from S-W-N on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12.
