Situated on a low hillock on the demesne lands of South Hill House located 520m to E. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as an oval enclosure planted with trees within an outer oval enclosure, annotated as ‘fort’. Not depicted as an antiquity on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map. Present remains consist of a sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 24m NW-SE; 26m NE-SW) enclosed by two earthen banks, with intervening fosse and external fosse. The interior slopes from NW-SE. Tree stumps are visible around the perimeter of the monument. Depicted as a landscaped tree-ring on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map. Could be the remains of a ringfort reused as a tree-ring or could be the remains of a landscape feature associated with South Hill house.
