Ogham stone in Poundlick

Ogham stone

What is recorded here

No visible ogham stone remains in Poundlick, though a landowner once recorded one lying in the ringfort fosse. It vanished without trace, leaving behind only the shape of its absence and the chance that it marked a name now lost.
A possible ogham stone was recorded by the landowner in the fosse of a ringfort (CO141-125----). No visible trace of it survives and its current whereabouts are unknown. Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 12 January 2010

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
