What is recorded here

This stone was found in 1837 'near a well, about half a mile south-west of Knockfierna' but was lost some time afterwards (Westropp 1907). However, the inscription was recorded by John Windele in 1840 (ibid.) though it was only partially intact as the stone had been damaged. Macalister interpreted the inscription as 'D(A)Q(U)MA MAQI RAGAVVECC' (Macalister 1945, vol. 1, 252-3). The exact location of the stone's find spot is not known.
