What is recorded here
In flat undulating pasture 400m SW of the Groody River and 120m NW of Garryglass Roundabout. A layer of sterile blackish brown organic clay over the boulder clay was discovered in advance of road building (Hayes 2001). It was interpreted by the excavator as a ‘natural feature’ in ‘field 11’. No artefacts or dating material were retrieved from the fills and the function of the feature is unknown, it was interpreted as a thin deposit of naturally occurring soil.
